Viewing Your Loved One's Daily Activities

FamilyFamilyPhysicianUpdated Jul 26, 2026

Overview

When your center shares activities, the Family Portal gives you a window into your loved one's day. The Activities view shows a feed of what they took part in — with a short description, the times, and sometimes a photo — so you can stay connected even when you cannot be there in person.

Before You Begin

  • You are signed in to the Family Portal and have chosen your loved one.
  • Your center must have activity sharing turned on. If you do not see activities, see the troubleshooting section below.

Steps

Step 1: Open the Activities View

Open the Activities view for your loved one. The feed shows the activities recorded for the selected day.

Step 2: Choose a Day

A week strip runs across the top of the Activities view, with today highlighted. Select any day to see its activities, or use the left and right arrows to move to a different week.

Step 3: Read the Activity Feed

Each activity appears as a card. On a card you may see:

  • Category — a colored label showing the type of activity
  • Description — a short note about what happened
  • Check In and Check Out times — when the activity started and ended
  • Photo — a picture from the activity, when staff have added one

Scroll down to see the rest of the day's activities.

Step 4: Switch Between Loved Ones

If more than one loved one is linked to your account, a row of profile photos appears near the top. Select a photo to filter the feed to that person.

Tips

  • Check in at the end of the day. Activities are added by staff as the day goes on, so the feed is most complete later in the afternoon or evening.
  • Use activities as conversation starters. Seeing what your loved one enjoyed gives you something to talk about when you next speak with them.
  • Look back across the week. If you miss a day, use the week strip and arrows to catch up on earlier days.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
I do not see any Activities Your center may not have turned on activity sharing for families, or your account may not have access. Contact the center to ask whether activities are shared through the portal.
No activities show for today Staff add activities throughout the day. If you check early, the feed may be empty — try again later in the day.
An activity has no photo Photos are optional. Staff add them when they can, so not every activity will include one.
I cannot see older days The feed shows recent activity. For records from further back, contact the center directly.
