Alerts and Notifications

CenterAdminUpdated Jul 26, 2026

Overview

Seniorverse can notify people when something at your center needs attention. This article explains the center-level Overdue alerts setting and how the alert system works.

There are two related pieces:

  • Overdue alerts — a center setting that turns on a daily check for overdue items at your center. It is on by default.
  • Alerts — individual notifications addressed to a specific user, each of which moves through a status lifecycle and can be marked urgent.

The Overdue alerts setting

The Overdue alerts toggle lives on the Alerts tab of your center's management view. Its description reads: "Send alerts when items become overdue for this center." It is enabled by default.

  • On (default) — Seniorverse runs a daily check for overdue items at your center and surfaces them to the Seniorverse team that supports your account so they can follow up with you.
  • Off — that daily overdue check is skipped for your center.

Today the overdue check covers billing items — past-due, unpaid invoices, and insurance claims that are taking longer than expected to be acknowledged or paid. The check runs once per day.

Changing this setting requires full center access (Super Access). If you do not see the Alerts tab or the toggle, contact your administrator or Seniorverse support.

How alerts work

When Seniorverse raises an alert for a person, that alert:

  • Is addressed to a specific user.
  • Can be flagged Urgent to mark it as high priority.
  • May include links to the related records (for example, an attendance entry) so the recipient can jump straight to the item.
  • Is delivered by email — recipients get a "You have alerts on Seniorverse!" message summarizing what is waiting for them, grouped by center.

The alert lifecycle

Every alert moves through four statuses:

Status Meaning
Pending The alert has been created but not yet delivered.
Sent The alert has been delivered (for example, included in an email).
Read The recipient has opened or acknowledged the alert.
Archived The alert has been cleared and no longer needs attention.

Before You Begin

  • Changing the Overdue alerts setting requires full center access (Super Access).
  • Alerts are delivered by email, so make sure each user's email address on their profile is correct.
  • Overdue alerts are on by default — you only need to visit this setting to turn the check off or confirm it is on.

Steps

Step 1: Open the center's Alerts settings

Open your center's management view and select the Alerts tab.

Step 2: Review the Overdue alerts toggle

Confirm the Overdue alerts toggle is set the way you want. Leave it on to keep the daily overdue check running, or turn it off to stop overdue checks for this center.

Tips

  • Leave Overdue alerts on unless you have a specific reason to stop the daily check — it helps Seniorverse catch billing problems early.
  • Keep email addresses current. Because alerts are delivered by email, an out-of-date address means a user misses their notifications.
  • Urgent is a priority flag, not a separate channel. An urgent alert follows the same lifecycle as any other alert; the flag simply marks it as high priority.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
You cannot find the Alerts tab or the Overdue alerts toggle The setting requires full center access (Super Access). Ask an administrator who has it, or contact Seniorverse support.
A user is not receiving alert emails Confirm the user's email address is correct on their profile and check spam or junk folders.
You turned Overdue alerts off but want it back Return to the Alerts tab and turn the toggle back on; the daily check resumes.
An alert stays in Pending Pending means it has not been delivered yet. Delivery happens on a schedule; if it persists, contact Seniorverse support.
